Members of the Young Thomasian Professionals Lay Dominican Fraternity with newly-installed Prior Provincial, Rev. Fr. Napoleon "Jun" Sipalay, Jr., O.P.
QUEZON CITY —As the eleventh Provincial Chapter of the Dominican Province of the Philippines (DPP) came to an end, Rev. Fr. Napoleon Sipalay, Jr., OP was formally installed as the new Prior Provincial, on the Feast of St. Martin de Porres.
Fr. Sipalay was elected during the Provincial Chapter, and will serve a term of four (4) years. His election has been confirmed by the Master of the Order, Rev. Fr. Bruno Cadoré, OP. He succeeds Rev. Fr. Gerard Francisco P. Timoner III, OP, who was elected in 2012.
Before his election, Fr. Sipalay served in Dominican missions overseas like Sri Lanka, and recently as Prior of the Dominican convent in Manaoag, Pangasinan. He first professed in the Dominican Order in 1991 and was ordained as a Priest in 1997.
Among those present at the installation were the Most Rev. Honesto Ongtioco, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Cubao, the Capitulars of the recently concluded Provincial Chapter, and members of the Dominican Family. It was held at Santo Domingo Church in Quezon City, the motherhouse of the Dominican Province of the Philippines.
With filial devotion, the YTP Lay Dominican Fraternity welcomes and congratulates Fr. Sipalay on his election as Prior Provincial. The group also expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Timoner for his love, dedication, and service during his term as Prior Provincial.
